SOCIAL Democratic Liberal Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka says he expects a budget as “dreamy” as previous ones when the 2018/2019 National Budget will be announced tomorrow.

He claimed this would mean a budget filled with a lot of promises, but lack of execution.

“In the past, most of our budgets looked good on paper, but they were not properly administered or executed,” he claimed.

“At the end of it, I’d like to see what the tax measures are and what duties are going to be levied.”

Mr Rabuka said he also wished to see the Government address the various social issues faced by Fijians today.

He said all social issues had been addressed by all governments including the Bainimarama Government, but it was the way governments addressed these issues and its impact on the total population that mattered.

“We appreciate the infrastructure development that is going on, but it’s mostly in the areas that our visitors look at and they see. “The tourists come in and they see good roads and an international airport and facility, but if they go outside the well-trodden parts of the tourism belts, they will find that the infrastructure in the rural areas are still wanting,” he added.
