Dragons fire Eagles in Suva

THE Pacific Energy Kinoya Sea Eagles defence and lack of fitness was the downfall of the team.

The side went down to KBL Saru Dragons 26-10 in the Vodafone Cup top eight match at FNU grounds in Valelevu.

Coach Isimeli Soqe said they had not prepared thoroughly for the match.

“Our fitness was the major factor for us and we would have played far much better,” he said.

“Our players were committed with their work and we had not trained as a team.

“We have been facing this problem but we will be trying to find solution.”

Soqe said they needed to pull up their socks ahead of their next clash against Nadi Eels.

“We need to improve on our defence and there were number of gaps in the defence,” he added.

“We will be addressing this in the training but looking at the side we are improving in every match we play.

“Last time we played Saru Dragons the score was 32-14 though we lost but today (yesterday) we have seen improvement.”
