Domestic violence workshop for murder victim’s workmates

Update: 5:13PM MORE than 30 staff members of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community’s geoscience division participated in a domestic violence awareness and gender relations workshop today.
The SPC, where journalist and murder victim Losana McGowan worked, requested the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre for the training program.
SPC’s Adviser Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Policy at the geoscience division, Cristina Casella said all staff members at the division were affected following Ms McGowan’s tragic death.
“We were really affected and every staff member recognised that certain issues relating to domestic violence need to be discussed,” she said.
The training at Tanoa Plaza in Suva was facilitated by the FWCC.
