Update: 2:58PM CRICKET Fiji general manager Setoki Galuvakadua says there is a need for women development in cricket.

Galuvakadua said with five teams participating in the Easter cricket games this week they hope to get in more women to take part.

“This is a great platform to all women who are interested in cricket to come and play because we will be having trials for the national team for Pacific games next year.”

“We are taking a woman’s team next year for the South Pacific games in Samoa and also the T20 World Cup competition most probably in Japan and this is where we begin scouting players,” he said.

Galuvakadua said ICC is helping Fiji develop women in this sport.  With the Easter games a perfect example they hope there will be a lot of support on their participation.
