INNOVATIVE fundraising and awareness events pertaining to breast cancer awareness month are in the pipeline for people in the Western Division.
The Western Cancer Society said a date had been set for the annual Pinktober morning tea.
Branch member Milika Wata-Marshall reiterated the need for good public support in order to make the month a success.
“We are happy to announce the morning tea is now decided for October 16 at the Northern Club,” she said.
She said the society hoped to bring as many survivors as they could to participate in the morning tea and share their experience with the public.
“They will tell the public there is life after diagnosis and once treated, there is a quality of life to be enjoyed.
“Hope is a wonderful thing and together, communities can make a difference.
“We are hoping to engage the business houses in Lautoka and hopefully, the city council as well,” Ms Wata-Marshall said.
