Update: 4:11PM THE Vou dance group today sent a team to participate at festivities associated with the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia.

A team which left Nadi this afternoon said they were excited to be able to share traditional, contemporary and modern fusion dance with the world.

The group will be part of the Commonwealth Games Festival performing at the Bleach Festival and WOW Australia.

Tevita Tobeyaweni who is part of the group said he wanted to showcase what Fiji was about.

“Fiji is lucky to have been picked for this festival from the Pacific, so we have to prove that we are worthy of this, not only to others but to ourselves. I want to rejuvenate and renew myself – to come back evolved artistically,” Mr Tobeyaweni said.

Vude Queen Laisa Vulakoro left on the weekend to be part of an event at the same festival which celebrates indigenous composers.
