POLICE confirm that investigations have begun in relation to nude pictures of an under aged girl from a prominent girls school circulating on social media.
Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department as well as the Cyber Crime Unit are part of the investigations.
Under the Crimes Act, the distribution of pornographic material is illegal and it’s storing and sharing is an additional criminal offence. The age of consent in Fiji is 16 years old.
Police spokesperson Joketama Qio investigations began on April 18 when the police complaint was made.
