CROSSROADS basketball team won the Post Fiji sponsored Raiwaqa Inter-lane Basketball Tournament beating Davui Magics 32-23 in the women’s final at the Edward Hatauer Court in Raiwaqa last night.

Fiji basketball national rep Lice Ravai who played for Crossroads scored 14 points which made her the most top player of the match.

Raiwaqa Players Basketball Association Rueben Colata said the association had plans to include more teams in future.

“The competition was very intense as teams showed good competition,” he said.

“We want to make the competition grow bigger in future.

“We had problems running the competition in the night so we got some lights to have night games running and we have asked the government to improve on our lighting at the facilities and they would fund for the lights and it is in the process.”

Colata said Basketball Fiji had also decided to give them the fibreglass boards.

“We will renovate and replace the two boards because the current board had been here for the past 50 years and soon we will have it replaced,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the men’s final Spowart Lane defeated Grantham 32-31.
