THE Cricket Fiji side had a hard fought three wicket win over Vanuatu in the ICC East Asia Pacific T20 qualifier at Suva’s Albert Park today.

Vanuatu batted first and scored 143 runs in 20 overs at the loss of nine wickets.

Fiji started the chase well as Metuisela Beitaki top scored for Fiji with 52 runs.

Quick fall of wickets in the middle order saw Fiji needing 14 runs in the last over to win.

It came down to the last ball where Fiji needed one run to win and they did so.

Fiji’s next match is against Papua New Guinea later this afternoon.

Meanwhile, in another match this morning, PNG beat Samoa by 80 runs.
