Court martial to try soldiers for alleged rape

Listen to this article:

A GENERAL court martial to try a group of soldiers accused of allegedly raping another female soldier is underway in Suva.

Republic of Fiji Military Forces Chief Staff Officer Coordination Captain Eroni Duaibe confirmed this today but said the court martial was closed to the media.

He said the RFMF would only release a statement following the conclusion of the court martial.

The soldiers involved in the alleged rape were earlier charged with rape and sexual assault.

The female soldier had lodged a report with the organisation about the alleged incident in March this year.
