THE bail variation application by Social Democratic Liberal Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka was granted by Magistrate Joji Boseiwaqa yesterday.

Mr Rabuka’s lawyer, Filimoni Vosarogo made the application, saying Mr Rabuka’s General Election preparations required a lot of travelling, hence the application.

Mr Boseiwaqa said for any travel within Fiji, Mr Rabuka is required to write a letter to FICAC prior to the travelling.

Mr Vosarogo also told the court that voir dire grounds had been filed last Monday.

FICAC lawyer Rashmi Aslam said they were preparing their voir dire disclosures and would serve the disclosures sometime this week or early next week.

Mr Rabuka has also been allowed to report to a designated police station once every two months on the first Saturdays, beginning on July 7. Previously, Mr Rabuka was required to report to the police station on the first Saturday of every month between 6am and 6pm.

The matter has been adjourned to July 6.
