IN an effort to promote transparency, the Labasa Town Council has encouraged vendors to attach correct price tags on produce sold at the Labasa market.
Special administrator for Labasa and Savusavu Vijay Chand said the exercise would ensure the price of produce and goods sold at the market were well regulated.
Mr Chand said it would also ensure customers were not cheated off their money.
“We have often heard of how vendors are sometimes fond of changing prices of items because of reasons best known to them,” he said.
“The latest requirement, however, ensures that this is not the case and that customers know the real price of what they purchase.”
