Coral planting to commemorate World Tourism Day

Update: 6:26PM IN commemoration of World Tourism Day, members of Tourism Association, Organisation for Industrial, Spiritual, Cultural and Advancement (OISCA) Fiji, Government and neighbouring communities participated in a Coral Planting Program at the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort today.

Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral
Resources, Faiyaz Koya said the Government believed in ensuring that our future
generations are able to enjoy the same environment, as we are enjoying today.

“In the spirit of World Tourism Day, we are also
encouraging the tourism industry, Government ministries, business community and
all Fijians to plant a tree. This is to ensure that we are carrying the theme
of ‘sustainability’ forward as we celebrate World Tourism Day and also
compliment Fiji’s incoming presidency of COP23,” said Mr Koya.

“In this regard, it is important that all stakeholders
work together to protect our marine resources.”
