Update: 1:38PM YOUTH clubs within the Nadroga/Navosa Province were fortunate enough to have had the Ministry of Youth and Sports visit them in its bid to create awareness on the youth club registration process and other programmes of the ministry.
Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports, Iliesa Delana who visited seven villages and reaching out to over 20 village youth clubs March 26 29 said the visit was timely to gauge the difficulties faced by village youth clubs in accessing information on the provisions and support provided by respective Government Ministries.
“The tour provided a perfect opportunity to engage in ‘Talanoa sessions with the village youth clubs in the Nadroga/Navosa province,” Mr Delana said.
“It gives us the opportunity to inform community members, specifically youth clubs, about the Ministry’s programs, types of assistance we provide and also on the criteria of youth club registration process,” he said.
“It was found that 78 per cent of youth clubs are engaged in agricultural farming. These types of data are very crucial for the ministry as it provides us with information on the types of assistance these youth clubs may need.”
