A NEW service launched by Westpac Fiji recently has received a great response from their business customers.
In a statement issued yesterday, Westpac Fiji general manager Brett Hooker said their business customers lodged deposits through their newly launched Business Express Deposits via the Westpac Suva Branch Express Deposit Machine.
Mr Hooker said business customers completed a deposit slip and placed it in the envelope with the deposit which could include cash or cash and cheques combined.
“At the bank, the customer enters the details, that is the account number and the amount to be deposited, and once these details are entered the Business Express Deposit Machine opens and allows the customer to insert the envelope containing the deposit slip and cash/cheques.
“Once the envelope is inserted, the machine closes and prints a receipt acknowledging the acceptance of the deposit.
“Deposits made at the Business Express Deposits are cleared by the branch staff during the day and deposits are processed before the end of the same day and prompt notification of any discrepancies are advised to the customer,” he said.
The Business Express Deposit is a fast and convenient way for business customers to lodge deposits containing cash, cheques and merchant envelopes quickly and efficiently using a tamper evident envelope without the need to be served by a customer service representative or a teller.
Mr Hooker said since the launch of the service they had received positive feedback and compliments from their customers.
“As part of our drive towards digital transformation, we are introducing new faster and smarter ways to serve our customers.
“We’ve been backing business in Fiji for generations and we know that for our customers to be successful they need access to the latest technology, which is why we are investing more and more — to make banking easier for our customers. Business Express Deposit is the latest advance,” said Mr Hooker.
Westpac business customer, Peni Delaibatiki, board of director for SoqoSoqo Ni Qasenivuli Holdings Ltd said, “Since we started using Business Express Deposit our banking time has reduced considerably.
“It is fast, convenient and saves much time for our officers and they can now attend to other matters quickly in one run,” said Mr Delaibatiki.
