Update: 5:20PM TO ADDRESS increasing concern over racial discrimination in Fiji, the Citizens’ Constitutional Forum has set up a concert to commemorate International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination this Saturday.
The “Equal at the Mic” free concert which will be held at Sukuna Park in Suva, will advocate against xenophobia, the dislike or prejudice against people from other countries.
CCF chief executive officer Bulutani Mataitawakilai said the concert will feature a diverse range of performances from Honey Hasan, Saimone Vuatalevu, The Gang, Via ni Tebara, Avenue and Four Quarters and all members of the public are invited to attend.
“Musical talent is no respecter of ethnicity, behind the mic all that matters is musical ability and if there is one thing that music has taught the world, it is that all ethnicities have the ability and aptitude for music,” he said.
