Concerns raised on illegal green yaqona trade

DESPITE the ban in the sale of green yaqona plants, it continues to take place illegally in the province of Cakaudrove on Vanua Levu.
The concern was raised during the Cakaudrove Provincial Council meeting where district representatives said yaqona theft continued to increase.
They said at the meeting that green yaqona traders continued to thrive throughout the province.
Responding to these concerns, deputy divisional police commander northern Assistant Superintendent of Police Kevueli Baledrokadroka said three months ago, they had conducted an operation seizing illegal operators in the province.
