Communicate about whereabouts, Police urge

COMMUNICATION is vital during the school break, the Fiji Police Force said after a teenage girl reported missing earlier this week was reunited with her family yesterday.
Police spokesperson Ana Nausori urged parents and guardians to advise their children about the need to communicate about plans and whereabouts.
Ms Naisoro said the Force was also concerned about the manner in which social media users worsened the situation when news of a missing person is released.
“We choose to use social media and the mainstream media to try and get information disseminated to as many people as possible in the hope of finding the individual who has been reported missing,” Ms Naisoro said.
“It’s not a time to be passing judgment on any individual which could end up doing more harm.”
