Update: 3:16PM THE Fiji athletics and sports teams today gathered at Boron House in Suva to present their itatau to President Jioji Konrote as they prepare to represent Fiji to the 21st Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia from April 4 to 15.

With a total of 140 athletes and officials representing Fiji in 12 sporting events at the Commonwealth Games, Mr Konrote congratulated the teams that will be representing Fiji at the event. 

“There are 49 females, and 47 males that make up team Fiji to this year’s games. A special congratulation to all our women and girls,” he said.

“The increase in the size of the team in both athletes and  officials as well as the number of sports we are participating in is a huge  achievement as far as the development of sports in this country is concerned.”
