Coke Games 2018: Split second difference sub-junior sprinters
6 April, 2018, 5:50 pm
Update: 5:50PM ONE-third of a second is minimal for most people but for four sub-junior 100m sprinters, it is the extra mile they need to run towards the girl’s division title at the Coca-Cola National High School Athletics Championships in just under two weeks.
For Adi Miriama Wilkinson and Sera Colati of Adi Cakobau School (ACS) every gold and silver medal is in the campaign to keep the girls’ division champion title in Sawani.
Wilkinson ran at the Triple N Zone in 13.12 seconds while Colati ran 13.23 seconds.
Hot on their tails are sprinters from the rival Jasper Williams High School, Helava Ledua and Repeka R who each ran 13.23seconds 13.44seconds respectively.
Sigatoka Methodist’s Joana Vakasobuduru should be one to watch also having recorded the fastest time of 13.26 on the grass tracks of Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
The Coke Games begin Thursday, April 19 to Saturday, April 21 at the ANZ Stadium.
