ILISONI Naiteqe today won the first gold medal for Dilkusha High School after jumping a height of 1.86m in the Intermediate Boys’s High Jump.Naiteqe said he had hoped to surpass his personal best of 2.01m which was the height he jumped during the Triple N Zone meet last month.
He said being the only representative for his school, he was happy with his win today.
“I had some challenges with the training equipment, because there wasn’t any facilities at school,” he said.
“I also had a leg injury last week, but despite all that, I was able to win gold for my school.”
