THE women’s ministry is a powerful arm of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma, says its president, the Rev Dr Epineri Vakadewavosa.

He made the comments as the church’s women’s ministry commemorated their 70th anniversary at Furnival Park in Toorak, Suva yesterday.

Dr Vakadewavosa said the women in the church had played a vital role as their prayer groups were instrumental in the building and expansion of the church.

He said the church was proud of the contribution made by the women over the years as they served and worked tirelessly in the running of the church despite the challenges they faced.

Secretary for Methodist women’s department Salanieta Naucabalavu commended the women’s contribution and said they were an integral part of the church.

She said women not only assisted in the building of the church, but also in ministering and other areas that had assisted in the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ.

The Methodist Church’s Festival of Praise continues today.
