Christopher jailed to nine years for aggravated robbery

A MAN convicted of one count of aggravated robbery was sentenced to nine years, six months and 10 days imprisonment by the High Court in Suva this morning.

The court heard that Joseph Christopher grabbed a man and robbed him of $3400 cash on November 17 back in 2016 at Nabua, Suva.

While sentencing Christopher, judge Justice Chamath Morais said he had attacked the victim while robbing him.

A non-parole period of seven years, six months and 20 days has been set.
