MEMBERS of the All Nations Christian Fellowship were yesterday reminded that Palm Sunday was a time to thank God for Calvary.

During the Palm Sunday service in Labasa, ANCF youth member Nina Turagavou shared the importance of hope in the Lord and being humble.

Ms Turagavou reminded church members that Palm Sunday was a special day as Christians commemorated and celebrated the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.

Other Christian denominations observed Palm Sunday — also regarded as Children’s Sunday.

At the Kaleli Methodist Church in Vaturekuka, Labasa, children performed the drama of Jesus’s arrival into the city of Jerusalem.

They held palm leaves and waved it with shouts of “Hossana, Hossana”.

According to biblical teachings, palm branches are considered symbols of victory and triumph.
