THE 2010 Golden Oldies snooker champion Suresh Chauhan will be a threat to the favourites at the Fiji International in Suva this weekend.
This is after Chauhan showed his class at the PK Electrical sponsored tournament at the South Seas Club in Lautoka last week.
After missing out during the Coastal Rentals/Foodhall-sponsored North West Open a week earlier, Chauhan made a fine return on the table displaying some exquisite shots.
In Sunday’s final, Chauhan beat Isireli Kaci 2-0.
Chauhan defeated the club’s snooker director Ajesh Chand in the semi-final.
He also downed the third National Rankings Championship winner Nitesh Chand in the first round.
Chauhan said he was getting his rhythm back.
“It is a matter of practising daily,” he said.
“In snooker, every fame is different. It is about taking the chances well and not giving the opponent the opportunity to hit back.”
In the other semi-final, Kaci defeated Nilsen High School teacher Dharam Jeet Singh.
Mahend Deo, Rimal Narayan, Vinesh Prasad, Shalen Raju, Philip Gock, Navneil Maharaj, Simon Reddy and Ismail Wali are the other players from the Western Division who are expected to participate at the Fiji International.
