AIRPORT’S Fiji Limited fireman Anuresh Chandra is hoping to cap off the major golfing season on a high note.
Chandra hasn’t won a major title this year and has set his sights on the Total Fiji Limited 36 holes Vatukoula Open Championship which starts today.
The 33 year old won the inaugural Srixon Cleveland Classic at the Nadi Airport Golf Club in May, however the Open titles have eluded him.
Chandra said he was ready for the challenge at Vatukoula.
“Sam Lee is the inform golfer in the country but he is not participating at Vatukoula,” the national elite squad member said.
“I have practiced well for this tournament and hope to hit top form.”
Chandra has previously won the Nadi Open, Lautoka Open, Ba Open, Vatukoula Open, Fiji Open and the Fiji Amateur titles.
He is yet to claim the Suva Open.
Chandra will tee-off in the seeded pack with Roneel Prakash and Olaf Frank Grant Allen at 9am.
