Chand favourite to win golf

FORMER national rep Nitesh Chand is the top seed for the Western Customs (Lautoka) sponsored snooker championship which will be played at the Lautoka Club on Saturday.
Chand has been in top form recently — representing the South Sea Knights in the North West Billiards and Snooker Association (NWBSA) 2018 league competition.
Tony Cen, Philip Gock, Humayun Khan, Roneel Sami and Simon Reddy are among the favourites for the title. Lautoka Club sports chairman Suresh Chauhan said the tournament was only open to snooker club members in the Lautoka district.
Chauhan said they expected a total of 32 players.
“This is something different that we are hosting,” he said.
“It will draw the best players from the clubs, displaying high level of snooker.”
Meanwhile, Nadi Club defeated Lautoka Club in the 2018 NWBSA league competition.
Nadi, with the services of the father and son combination of Yogen and Sahil Prasad, defeated Lautoka 4-3. Chauhan said all the matches went down to the wire.
He said this was Nadi’s first win in the competition.
“The next round will be played later this month.”
The Knights lead the competition.
Entry fee is $10.
