THERE is no guarantee that there will be zero breakdowns at the Rarawai mill, says Fiji Sugar Corporation chief executive officer Graham Clark.

He made the statement in response to concerns about the crushing stoppages that have occurred at the Lautoka mill. When asked whether or not there would be any breakdowns at Rarawai, Mr Clark said he couldn’t guarantee it.

“Can’t guarantee, but I think they’ll (staff) do a good job,” he said.

“As I’ve said before, it’s all about the planning if you can get it right. “I think it has been good throughout but you know one of the issues when you have old technology trying to mesh with new technology, sometimes there is a problem. “Like all factories, you need time to settle down and we’re a continuous operation, we run 24 hours seven days a week, we need time, patience and support, the more we work together the better.”
