THE Central Share Registry Ltd has signed up with Energy Fiji Ltd to assist with the registration process of shareholders by providing registry services.

At a press conference in Suva, EFL chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel said it was a historical event for the country.

He urged the EFL customers who had missed out on the application deadline to submit their applications to acquire non-voting shares with EFL.

Attorney-General and Minister for Public Enterprises Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum had recently announced the offer of free shares by the Government of Fiji in EFL to all domestic electricity account holders who were Fijian citizens residing in the country.

A parcel of 150 shares is being offered to all non-subsidised EFL domestic customers while a parcel of 250 shares is being offered to all subsidised EFL domestic customers.
