A JOINT taskforce to investigate traders alleged to be involved in scrupulous dealing under the Cyclone Assistance Relief Effort (CARE) for Fiji program, has so far received 20 complaints since its inception one week ago.

The taskforce while responding to questions from this newspaper said the 20 complaints are from members of the public who had received electronic cards under the program for the Home Care and Farm Care assistance.

FCCC chief executive officer Joel Abraham said investigations are now underway.

“Till date 20 complaints have been received regarding the two initiatives and the taskforce is undertaking ground investigations regarding them. In the meantime, consumers are being urged to exercise caution when utilising the funds under the Care- initiatives,” Mr Abraham said.
