A CANCER awareness session will be organised for members of the public on Thursday at the Vodafone Sugar Festival. Organising committee member Pusp Raj said interested parties were encouraged to attend the event.

“We will be supporting the Bushell’s Fiji’s Biggest Morning Tea for cancer awareness and we want people to come out in numbers and support the program,” he said.

“Apart from this, we are also having the baby show on Wednesday and mothers are encouraged to bring their children.”

He said business for stall owners was going well and they anticipated activity to increase with turnout in the coming days.

Nine women are vying for the Miss Sugar Festival crown this year.

The contestants began their community visitations yesterday, starting with the Legalega Research Station.

The first public judging for the queen contestants will be held tonight.
