GOVERNMENT could soon be graduating ‘teivovo’ or the ‘cibi’ into something more national that everyone in Fiji could perform when out on sporting events.
This was hinted in Parliament by Youth and Sports Minister Laisenia Tuitubou following a suggestion by Opposition MP Viliame Gavoka on the matter.
In a supplementary question in Parliament yesterday, Mr Gavoka said the ‘teivovo’ or the ‘cibi’ should be done in the same way New Zealanders did the haka.
“The All Blacks haka can be performed by any kid in New Zealand,” Mr Gavoka said.
“Given the optics today with television and all that, with our boys and players playing all over the world, can I ask you, Sir, if you can take this on and make teivovo or the cibi become more current and more appealing in terms of the optics globally today?”
In his response, Mr Tuitubou said Mr Gavoka’s point was taken and he would look into it.
