BUSINESS in Nadi Town has resumed as normal after weeks of inclement weather.
Nadi Chamber of Commerce president Dr Ram Raju said flood damage in the town was minimal.
“Business houses had prepared themselves well by closing early by midday on Monday, taking care of all their goods in their shops either stored away elsewhere or raised above flood levels experienced in the past,” he said.
“Some had sandbags and other means of minimising flood damages, which is commendable. The town was somewhat well secured by late Monday awaiting the cyclone that was expected to hit us hard mainly with floods.”
He said while several major outlets experienced flooding, shop owners were quick to clean-up and resume operations as soon as possible.
Nadi Town has been inundated with floodwaters over the past few weeks.
