THE Boxing Commission of Fiji wants to go up another level and it knows it will need to make proper use of its allocated funds if it is to do so.

The Commission has been allocated $80,000 in the 2018/2019 National Budget.

BCF chairperson Bulutani Matatawakilai said there were so many things to do in coming 12 months.

“Our focus remains in the proper administration of boxers,” Matatawakilai said.

“We will keep overseeing boxing promotions and try to keep building the capacity of officials we have.”

Mr Matatawaikilai said more boxers and officials were expected to compete overseas.

“We will try to organise more international fights, including the ones to be staged overseas where more boxers and officials can participate.

“We will also try and get expert trainers to build skills locally.

“After consultation with FASANOC, we will try and arrange for Osep training for our athletes and officials.”
