MINISTER for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya this morning welcomed members of the New Zealand-Fiji Business Council mission including ex-Fijian residents who are returning home to explore the potential trade and investment opportunities here.

“Today marks the beginning of this important week long business mission, which will enable us to forge new relations and strengthen the ones that are already existing,” Mr Koya told members of the NZ delegation at Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva.

He said NZ and Fiji were natural trading partners and they must work together to reach the full potential of this relationship by exploring means and ways of further engagement.

The NZ Fiji Business Council mission was also attended by the NZ High Commissioner to Fiji Jonathan Curr, Fiji’s High Commissioner to NZ Filimone Waqabaca, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism permanent secretary Shaheen Ali, reps from Reserve Bank of Fiji and Investment Fiji, Government reps and NZ including local business people.
