Bibi crowned Miss Farmers

MISS Lautoka Sector Shafika Bibi was crowned Miss Farmers 2018 on Saturday night at carnival park, Lautoka.

The 18-year-old Lautoka Central College student said she was proud to support a carnival that did work to aid the education of underprivileged children.

First runner-up went to Miss City Sector, Suli Vukivuki and second runner-up to Miss Drasa Sector, Nitika Prasad.

Organising committee chairperson Umit Narayan said funds raised this year would be used to assist in the purchase of school materials for about 1200 children.

“Over the past 18 years we have raised more than $500,000 and assisted more than 10,000 children from underprivileged backgrounds,” he said.

“And this has only been possible because of the amazing support we have received from our sponsors and the generosity of the people of Lautoka.”

Miss Saweni Sector Liliviwa Vakavoli, who scooped the Miss Charity crown will fly to New Zealand as part of her prize and Miss Farmers 2018 has won herself a trip to Australia.
