BAULEVU High School Under-19 side is ready to defend its title at the Vodafone Fiji Secondary School’s football Championship in Nadi next month.
The defending champions defeated Cuvu College in last year’s final and is looking good to retain its title but is wary of the challenges it will face.
Coach, Rohit Ritesh Sharma says, his side is confident and have worked out plans to counter the challenges they will face.
“We played the final in 2016 but lost to Nukuloa College. Last year, we defeated Cuvu College and we haven’t looked back since then. We are the champions of Nausori this year finishing ahead of teams like Saraswati College, Vunimono High and Bhawani Dayal Arya College. Our team is ready and the boys are looking forward to next week.” he said.
Baulevu High School under-19 side boasts five players from the Rewa Youth side.
Former Rewa rep Sakeo Velevou’s son, Epeli Velevou is one of them.
However, Baulevu High School will miss the services of two of its players in Inoke Turagalailai and Josaia Sela who are with the Vodafone Fiji Under-16 side.
The side is pooled with Labasa’s Batinikama College, Ba’s Kamil College, Lautoka’s Tilak High school and Sigatoka Andhra College.
The Secondary Schools IDC will be played from the 12th to the 15th of August at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park.
