Baber names team to Commonwealth Games

Update: 2:36PM SEMI Kunatani has been named in the Fiji Airways men’s 7s team that will be competing at the 2018 Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast in Australia next month.
Kunatani known as the ‘Beast’ is the only overseas player who has indicated his availability and has been released by his club.
Coach Gareth Baber has also named Samisoni Viriviri as the 13th player on standby to cover for the rover and wing position for the team.
A statement from the Fiji Rugby Union stated that majority of the teams who took part in the HSBC Series and the Hamilton and Vancouver 7s tournament have been retained by the coach.
Fiji will be making a return to the Commonwealth men’s rugby sevens tournament after a lapse of 12 years.
The boys are pooled D alongside Wales, Uganda and Sri Lanka.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games 7s will be held from April 13-15.
Baber is also expected to name his team to Hong Kong next Thursday.
The selected players are: Semi Kunatani, Jasa Veremalua, Josua Vakurinabili, Paula Dranisinukula, Kalione Nasoko, Jerry Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvou, Amenoni Nasilasila, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Mesulame Kunavula, Eroni Sau, Alasio Naduva, and Samisoni Viriviri.
