THE inclusion of some former Labasa reps in this weekend’s Vodafone Fiji FACT is expected to boost the side’s performance. Labasa Football Association secretary Varun Anand has described the team’s preparation as “on track” for this weekend’s tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
“We have included Ajesh Narayan and Mohammed Zahid in the team and they used to play for Labasa,” Anand said.
“They were out of Labasa for some time, but now that they’re back in town, we have roped them in as they are good players. “During their time playing for Labasa, they were outstanding players and performed well.”
So their inclusion in the team this weekend, Anand said would definitely blend in well with the other players in the team.
“They are the only new inclusion, but we have retained all the other players because we believe in them,” he said.
“We believe they can make a difference this weekend and play their best as Labasa is known for its outstanding performance.”
Labasa takes on Dreketi in the opening match of the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT and Anand said they would not treat this match lightly.
“Dreketi is always tough to play against and being the neighbouring team from Macuata, both teams will play their best,” he said.
“But we are prepared to take on Dreketi and we know that other teams are also geared up for this weekend’s games.” Labasa team leaves for Nausori today.
