SHAREHOLDERS of Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Ltd Group of Companies will receive 2 cents per share as final dividend for the year.

This is a reduction from the 2.5 cents that was paid to shareholders early in the year.

Shareholder Hari Raj Naicker raised the question on why the reduction in dividend to which company CEO Ivan Fong replied that ATH’s expansion plans in the region would require lot of capital.

Mr Fong had said in his CEO’s report in the 2018 annual report that the increased complexity of its regional acquisitions and expansion plans would require ATH to commit more resources towards staffing and capability to formulate strategies, policies and compliance pathways to be developed at group level.

However shareholders were assured that there were possibilities of increase in dividends in future.
