FIJI’S Assistant Minister for Environment Lorna Eden has resigned from her post.

This was confirmed by a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister today.

In the statement, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said he had accepted her resignation.

“Given the current investigation into Mainland Resorts Limited, the Honourable Prime Minister has accepted the resignation of Honourable Lorna Eden as Assistant Minister effective as of 7 September 2018. Honourable Eden has resigned as Assistant Minister from all her portfolios. The Honourable Lorna Eden will continue to serve as a Member of Parliament,” Mr Bainimarama said in the two-line statement.
