Update: 2:18PM MAIN extension works in Nasau Number Two and Tubarua in Nadi will be completed this April, normalising water supply to hundreds of people in both areas.
The Water Authority of Fiji said people living in the area presently relied on roof catchment, rainwater harvesting, and boreholes to source water.
WAF chief operating officer Samanmal Ekanayake said the main extension works would improve the current infrastructure capacity and sustainability.
“This project will also enhance the supply of clean and safe water and eliminate the shortage of water during periods of drought,” Mr Ekanayake said.
Work on the project started in March last year.
