PORT MORESBY – Papua New Guinea’s hosting of APEC this year is a huge undertaking which will provide one of the biggest opportunities for the country to showcase its people, culture and policies to the world.
And Australia will continue to support PNG in its continuing preparations to host the 2018 APEC Summit in November. This is from Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, who was in PNG last week for an official three-day visit.
“To host the APEC meeting is a huge undertaking for any nation and this provides an opportunity for PNG to showcase its people, culture and policies to the world,” Mr Bishop said.
“There will be an enormous focus on PNG during 2018 as you welcome leaders from the APEC economies here. Australia, in partnership with you, wants to ensure that this is one of the most successful APEC meetings ever.”
