ANZ Bank has enabled its customers and staff members to use free Wi-Fi connection in any of its branches, a move aimed at accelerating the shift towards digital banking.
The blue bank made the announcement this week where its customers can use free Wi-Fi in any ANZ branch up to 100MB or for one hour, whichever comes first.
According to ANZ Fiji country head Saud Minam, the initiative is part of their effort to be the leading digital bank in the Pacific.
“We believe we have an important role to play in helping move Fiji towards its goal of replacing cash and cheques with electronic payments,” Mr Minam said in a statement.
“We were the first major bank in the Pacific to introduce a mobile banking app for customers, and we will continue to invest in technology to not only stay ahead of the competition but also provide the best experience for our customers and staff.”
ANZ Fiji Head of Digital Transformation Veilawa Rereiwasaliwa said: “We have come a long way in just two years, and it is very encouraging to see our customers adopting digital ways of banking.”
“Having access to free Wi-Fi in all ANZ branches and offices is an important next step in helping our customers embrace digital.”
