FULTON Hogan Hiways have set the benchmark for team entries at the Island Chill Suva Marathon which is schedule for next Saturday.

They are leading the registrations on number of teams entered at this year’s competition.

“This year we have helped staff with a training program for more than a month to encourage them to get active – it is a good motivator to get them to take part in the July marathon,” said Carl Theobald, FHH construction manager for the Central Division and team coach.

“We have got staff across all our divisions joining the event – from construction, maintenance, road marking, our admin team – and we have a large group from the Korovou Depot joining us in Suva.

“It will be an opportunity for all of us to get together, enjoy some exercise and some post-exercise food!”

Island Chill Suva Marathon 2018 race director Marita Manley said every year around thirteen Fulton Hogan Hiways staff helped to marshal the road closures and junctions and over 130 runners out on the course.

“They’ll be difficult to miss on July 21, 2018,” Ms Manley said.

Registrations close for the Island Chill Suva Marathon this Sunday.

Race events include the full marathon, half marathon, team marathon and a 10km race.
