About to a hundred participants are expected to attend the Fiji National Anti-Doping Workshop today in Suva.
The workshop would be hosted by the Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organization (ORADO), the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC), in conjunction with Drug-Free Sport Fiji (DFSF), at the Fiji School of Medicine Pacifika Campus at Extension St in Suva.
A statement from ORADO said the workshop would target the leaders of the National Olympic Committee’s 40-member National Sporting Federations (NFs), in particular all Team Fiji team officials for the 2015 Papua New Guinea Pacific Games.
“The main goals of this workshop are to inform all Athletes and Athlete-Support Personnel their rights and responsibilities with regards to anti-doping programs,” said the statement.
“To introduce the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code which takes effect from January 1, 2015.
“To map out a way forward for the Sports Community in Fiji in advocating the doping-free message.”
