PORT MORESBY, 15 AUGUST 2018 (THE NATIONAL) – National flag carrier Air Niugini will promote APEC 2018 on four of its aircraft that make international flights.

APEC Coordination Authority and Air Niugini Tuesday launched the ‘APEC 2018, Papua New Guinea’ logo on one of the airline’s Boeing 737 aircraft in Port Moresby.

Air Niugini general-manager corporate services Marco McConnell said the airline would carry the logo on its B737 and B767 aircraft.

Two B737s and two B767s will carry the logo.

Apec Minister Justin Tkatchenko said promoting the country during this period was important and thanked Air Niugini for the move.

“This is special,” he said.

“When our planes fly throughout the world, they will show everybody that APEC is coming to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and that we are hosting this major economic event.

“We should all be proud, as in coming months, we’ll be hosting 21 leading economic countries from around the world.

“We’ll have some of the biggest leaders that this country has seen arrive here at this airport,” he said.
