NATIONAL airline Fiji Airways has advised that its flight operations around the region will be severely affected today.
This is due to a significant ash cloud caused by the Mount Aoba Volcanic Eruption in Vanuatu.
The airline has advised that as a result of this, a number of Fiji Airways and Fiji Link flights will be impacted.
“Safety remains paramount for the Group and safety assessments will be made continuously regarding the Ash Cloud situation,” the airline said in a statement.
Currently, all Fiji Link flights are on hold, and guests are advised to expect delays until the volcanic ash cloud movement is assessed and the situation is conducive to safe flight operations.
A number of Fiji Airways flights will likely be affected. These flights include:
- FJ263 Nadi – Port Vila
- FJ262 Port Vila – Nadi
- FJ910 Sydney – Nadi
- FJ810 Los Angeles – Nadi
- FJ915 Nadi – Sydney
- FJ931 Nadi – Melbourne
Guests will be provided updated travel information on https://www.fijiairways.com/flight-information/travel-alerts/ and the Flight Status tab on the Fiji Airways website and app.
