Adi Salote breaks barriers; Awarded Best Light Machine Gun shot

TWENTY-six-year-old Adi Salote Caginidaveta broke barriers yesterday when she was awarded the Best Light Machine Gun shot during the cadet passing out parade at the Forces Training Group in Nasinu.

Adi Salote was among the 36 female recruits for the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces.

“The training part was very challenging, especially as females coming in and being recruited with males we only know that males can achieve it but with the achievement, I have received today proved that also females can do what males can do,” Ms Caginidaveta said.

The 26-year old Muanivuso, Waqainake lass said this proved that females were capable of taking on difficult challenges.

“I feel proud not only for myself but also for my sisters and proving to others that we can also take the challenge.”
