FOR 100 years, Chevrolet trucks have been as strong and dependable as the people who drive them. From the first production Chevy 1918 One-Ton Ute to the redesigned Chevrolet Colorado, the same DNA has been carried through each Chevrolet truck — that of power, dependability, durability, and quality.
Vision Motors, Fiji — 100 years after the start of sales of Chevrolet’s first truck, the 1918 One-Ton Ute, Vision Motors is kick-starting sales of its new icon, the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado Centennial Edition.
The 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition is part of the celebration of the American brand, which has produced classic trucks such as the 1958 Apache 3100 Series, 1988 C/K1500, Silverado and Colorado High Country STORM- revolutionising the perception of trucks.
Based on the award-winning 2018 Colorado High Country and LTZ models, the centennial edition marries tough design with rugged performance. It features segment-leading technology and connectivity, including the latest-generation Chevrolet MyLink recognition system.
It celebrates Chevrolet’s truck heritage and is inspired by different generations of Chevrolet trucks. Each iconic truck features its own vehicle build number displayed as a badge on the inside of its door, a heritage bowtie, a 100-year Chevrolet badge, unique hood decals, 18-inch black wheels and loads of safety features..
General manager International says: “To celebrate our 100th anniversary of trucks, we wanted to launch a model that our customers would love. We have taken an award-winning truck in the 2018 Colorado and bettered it with design cues and badges from our 100-year heritage. This is a truck that our customers will be proud to own and drive.”
Many of our customers are long-term Chevrolet owners. It is a testament to the quality of the brand that some of them are still driving trucks that are many generations old. With the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition, we have built a truck that we believe our multi-generational Chevrolet owners will thoroughly enjoy.”
With a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT), the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition produces 147 kW (200 PS) of power at 3600 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at a low 2000 rpm. The Duramax engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that allows the driver to shift from automatic to manual mode whenever more fun is needed.
To celebrate, a total of eight variants of Colorado are now available for customers to view and test drive.
Customers looking to test drive the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition can do so at Vision Motors showroom in Karsanji St, Suva, Nadi and Labasa at a time convenient to them.
